| Description: | I am not a political painter. However, I am an American, and when our country was attacked on September 11th, 2001 I was angry. I felt compelled to do something. Artists record the current events of their time, and no bigger event has occurred in my lifetime. The magnitude of the attacks caused me to want to express my reaction on a large scale. At the time, I had never been to New York, so the initial strokes were very expressive and abstract. By 2005 I had visited New York three times and felt it was time to revisit and finish the painting
